As South Africa assumed the G20 Presidency in December 2024, the Auditor-General of South Africa officially took over as chair of SAI20 − the engagement group of supreme audit institutions (SAIs) from G20 nations. Under this leadership, SAi20 plays a critical role in ensuring that accountability, transparency, and good governance remain at the heart of global economic policymaking.

The Auditor General of South Africa, which is the current chair of SAi20 will be hosting the technical meeting of the G20 partners. This will be the first meeting out of series of meetings to be held ahead of the heads of supreme audit institutions (SAI) meeting in June.
