BPK along with the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) from G20 member countries held the SAI20 – Senior Official Meeting (SOM) in Labuan Bajo starting Monday, 20 June 2022. The Financial Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia initiated the establishment of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) 20 in the context of welcoming the upcoming G20 Summit.
The chairman of BPK, Isma Yatun, said that this activity is part of a series of initiation activities for the formation of an engagement group. “We discussed the draft Communique which we will finalize in Bali,” added Isma.
Isma explained that the meeting was attended by delegates at the Director General level or the echelon I level of SAI members of the G20. Those who attended directly in Labuan Bajo came from Australia, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, those who attended virtually came from Argentina, China, Korea, Mexico, South Africa, and Turkey.
“The high enthusiasm of SAI20 members shows their commitment to the role of SAI in encouraging collaboration, contribution, accelerating post-Covid 19 economic recovery, and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” she continued.
SAI20 will jointly build inclusiveness and collaboration with various stakeholders, both in the audit community and the G20 community to support strong and beneficial state financial management. (vbi/ask)
