BPK Embraces Stakeholders To Promote SAIs’ Active Role In Supporting Global Economic Recovery And 2030 Agenda

LABUAN BAJO, BPK Public Relations – In support of the G20 Indonesia Presidency 2022, BPK holds a hybrid SAI20 Seminar in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara, Friday. The seminar is to provide perspective and enrichment to SAI20 members regarding the importance of SAIs’ contribution to the acceleration of economic recovery and the achievements of the 2030 Agenda.

The seminar is also intended to obtain inputs from various stakeholders on the two issues raised by SAI20, namely accelerating economic recovery and supporting the SDGs to enrich references in the preparation of the draft communique that will be the output of the SAI20.

The seminar, which is attended by SAI20 members, SAIs’ representatives, representatives of international organizations and embassies as well as representatives from the Engagement Group and the G20 Working Group, is opened by the Chairman of BPK, who also acts as the Chair of the SAI20, Isma Yatun.

In her remarks, the Chairman says that the SAI20 can improve governance and risk management systems of G20 member countries to strengthen the global health architecture, encourage economic recovery and build greener economics and digital transformation. Previously, the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, in her speech emphasizes the role of the SAI in the pandemic and the achievement of the SDGs. The Minister expects that the SAI can become the government’s partner in dealing with the pandemic situation.

The SAI20 Seminar entitled SAI’s contribution to the acceleration of the economic recovery and the 2030 agenda invites various speakers, namely from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the G20 Finance-Health Task Force, who present their role and contribution in supporting the economic recovery. The other speakers from the INTOSAI WGEA, the United Nations Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) and the INTOSAI Working Group on SDGs and Key National Indicators (KNI) explain perspectives and contributions of each organization in achieving the SDGs. In this seminar, each member of SAI20 is invited to intervene on the two priority issues discussed. The participants are also given the opportunity to express their views on these two issues. These views of the various stakeholders will become inputs for the SAI20 to enrich its issues, which will be embodied in the communiques to be determined at the SAI20 Summit on August 29-30, 2022.
